Aardvark Estate Sales

An estate sale involves the sale of the personal property of a household. Items are sold to the public with the twin goals of selling household contents in as short a time as possible and emptying the house by the end of the sale. Estate sales are a great way to sell a ton of items at great prices in a very short amount of time.

  • Before the Sale

    • We will spend about a week in your home, setting up and pricing items. We advertise with neighborhood signage, on local estate sale websites, and Craig’s List. Notices are also sent to our email distribution list.

  • The Sale

    • Many people will visit your home to shop. Small valuables are closely attended. Sales typically run three days. We stay open later to catch the “coming home” crowd in your neighborhood. Typically 85-95% of items sell.

  • After the Sale

    • Within 10 days we give you a check for everything that was sold.

    • We can remove any unsold items and deliver them to local charities or drop them off at a recycling center for an additional fee.

    • Unusable items are placed at curbside for trash removal.

  • Our integrity speaks for itself:  We have a strong list of references from our clients, realtors, and attorneys.

  • We provide professional turn-key services:  For private estates and businesses while generating the most revenue for our clients.

  • Complete clean-out service: When the sale is done your home or business can be completely cleaned out and ready for sale.

  • Vehicles: We have a lot of knowledge in this area and can assist you with selling vehicles from your estate.

  • Marketing: We take time to market the sale so that we can get more buyers to come. Your sale will be posted on estatesales.net, our website & email list, Craig’s List, and neighborhood signage during the sale.

  • We love what we do: Our staff is dedicated to setting up well organized, clean and fun sales, while treating your home and privacy with the utmost respect.

  • Considering running a sale yourself: If you want to run the sale yourself but are unsure about how to price items you can hire us to help price and offer tips on how to set up.

Preparing for Your Sale:

  • Many people believe that they have to have antiques & collectibles to make an estate sale worthwhile. However, that isn’t the case, many estate sales consist of basic household and garage items, no antiques.  Your $$ add up just as quickly with good, solid usable items.

  • Please don’t polish the silver, dust, or repair broken items. We do all of that.  Spend your precious time on packing the belongings you plan to keep.

  • DO NOT THROW ANYTHING AWAY! Unless it is old food ;-). Items that look like junk might be worth money to someone else. - OK, there are a few things that you can get rid of prior to the sale. If you need help with pre-sale clean-out, let us know. Items include:

    • Obvious trash

    • Shred personal items such as bills, taxes and paperwork

    • Personal photos and slides (We can sell vintage and military photos)

    • Any open or out of date food

    • Open toiletries and cosmetics

    • Prescription medication should be taken to a prescription drop off site

    • Undergarments (unless they are new, designer or vintage)

    • Personally recorded -VCR tapes, cassette tapes and CDs

    • Mattresses over 10 years old

    • Older TVs or monitors (unless they are vintage or antique)

  • “Not only did I get fantastic new workstations for our staff at a great price, they sold our used ones for us.” Dennis - Centennial, CO

  • I’m not much of a reviewer because I think we pay for a certain level of satisfaction. However, when a company goes as far above expectations as Vicki Walker, owner of Aardvark Estate Services and Appraisals did on our recent move, I just have to write a review. Reasonable, knowledgeable, professional, fun (if that’s possible with a BIG move from Denver to Florida), conscientious, fast, and really easy for us. I could go on and on. I have no affiliation with this company but you’ll regret having anyone else sell your unwanted precious possessions. 10 stars!!!!! Kasey - Centennial, CO
